After consultation with global security experts and government agencies, Carnival has changed the itineraries of 12 ships from seven cruise brands that were scheduled to sail through the Red Sea in May.
Affected cruise lines: Carnival Cruise Line , Holland America Line, Windstar Cruises, Seabourn Cruise Line, Costa Cruises, Cunard Line and P&O Princess Cruises.
Diversions and suspension of Red Sea cruises through November have not impacted bookings, Carnival said. . Rather, higher-than-expected bookings will offset expected losses.
Costa Cruises previously said it would cancel its Red Sea voyage this spring, travelmole.com reported.
Princess Cruises World Cruise will no longer visit the Middle East and Asia. Instead, the ship will add calls in Australia, continuing to South Africa and along the west coast of Africa en route to Europe.
Royal Caribbean and MSC Cruises have diverted ships from the conflict zone, with the latter opting to sail around the Cape .
