Qatar Airways will begin daily flights between Doha and Madagascar following the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the Qatar Civil Aviation Authority (QCAA) and the Civil Aviation Authority Madagascar (ACM) to establish direct air links between the two countries. The route's launch date has not yet been confirmed.
A memorandum of understanding signed by QCAA President Mohamed bin Faleh Al Hajri and ACM CEO Gervais Damacy allows Qatar Airways to operate seven weekly passenger flights between Hamad International Airport in Doha and Ivato International Airport in Antananarivo, reports simpleflying.com.
Currently, 10 international airlines operate passenger flights to Madagascar, such as Air France, Airlink, Air Mauritius, Ethiopian Airlines, Kenya Airways and Turkish Airlines.
In early 2023, Airlink resumed all flights to Madagascar after a three-year ban due to a political spat.
