Schengen welcomes Bulgaria and Romania

Bulgaria and Romania will issue Schengen C visas from April, following partial accession to the Schengen area, for travelers arriving by air and sea. These short-term visas allow entry and stay for up to 90 days within a 180-day period.

New border laws for air and sea travelers will allow people and businesses to enjoy free movement into or out of Bulgaria or Romania from her. The European Commission said that the date for the full inclusion of countries in the Schengen area will be announced after the abolition of air and sea borders at the end of March.

Romanian international airports have announced their readiness to serve passenger flows from the Schengen and non-Schengen areas. The National Company Bucharest Airports (NCBA) issued a press release stating that the preparations at the international airports of Bucharest Henri Coanda and Baneasa Aurel Vlaicu will be completed by the end of 2022.

Since then, the NCBA has had to ensure the processing of passenger traffic, which has doubled over the past 11 years.
