Tiger's Nest Monastery

The sacred Buddhist monastery of Taktsang (also known as the Tiger's Nest), located 3,000 meters above sea level on a dramatic cliff edge, is perhaps Bhutan's most iconic landmark. Built on the site of the meditation site of the eighth-century guru Padmasambhava, the monastery consists of four main temples and eight meditation caves carved deep into the rock.
