The historical and tourist city of Masuleh is one of the vast and cool areas of northern Iran with foggy weather, cool summers and snowy winters.
The village was founded in the 10th century and is inhabited mainly by Talysh. Population - about 800 people. Masule is located in northern Elbrus near the Rasht-Zanjan highway, 50 km from the shore of the Caspian Sea. The climate is humid, with frequent fogs. The unique layout (the height difference within the village is more than 100 meters, the roofs of the houses make up the streets) makes Masoule popular with tourists. The village of Masouleh has been proposed by Iran for inclusion in the World Heritage List.
Masuleh architecture is described in one sentence: the top roof of the building is a low roof structure. Building floors typically extend up to two stories.
Masouleh covers an area of ​​100 hectares of territory under the protection of cultural heritage and natural resources, one of the most charming parts of Iran, attracting tens of thousands of tourists every year. The historical and tourist city of Masuleh is known for its unique architecture in the world. Masouleh, with high mountains, forests and lush meadows, is one of the most tourist areas of northern Iran, with many natural manifestations, especially in late spring and summer, and the Peak of the Teacher of the Shahs in Masouleh, at 3,050 m, is the highest point of the Gilan Province and an attractive destination for Mountaineering group. Two hotels in traditional Masuleh architecture and several hotels on the road attract Iranian and foreign tourists. There are also many guest houses and rental houses.
