Since Andorra was first visited by the Volta of Catalunya in the 1950s, followed by the Tour de France in 1964 and the Vuelta a España in 1965, Andorra's mountain routes and passes have become increasingly popular among cycling enthusiasts. Now we can say with confidence that in recent years Andorra has become a cycling country.

You will find everything here. From cycle touring routes with trails and finish lines that are part of the history of modern road cycling, to mountain bike trails, routes and descents, some of which host world championships. You'll be able to experience Andorra's extensive network of road and mountain bike trails, where fans of all forms of cycling will have a great time and be able to test their passion. And all this in addition to a range of accommodation options and services that are unique in the Pyrenees.

Bicycle Country

Andorra has many routes and passes for you to have a great time cycling.

Col de la Gallina, Cortals d'Encamp, Collada de Beixalis, Coma d'Arcalis, Port de la Rabassa and Col d'Ordino are just some of the names that will pique the interest of cycling lovers. It is not surprising that some of them played a decisive role in various stages of the Vuelta a España and the Tour de France. Finish lines, stages and mountain passes that are part of the great history of modern cycling, such as the Arcalis stage of the 1997 Tour de France with the surprise victory of Jan Ullrich (who went on to win the race). Or the now legendary Royal Stage of the 2015 Vuelta a España, considered by many to be the toughest stage in the history of the Spanish Tour, won by Mikel Landa.

If you want to experience the excitement of cycling enthusiasts like you, there are various non-competitive events every season where you can share your passion:

Volta als Ports

It is a non-competitive cycling event with the longest history and tradition on our calendar, hosting over 40 races and attracting a large number of international competitors each year. It has various circuits, making it suitable for all kinds of enthusiasts. The most difficult route follows the route of the Andorran stage of the 2016 Tour de France and the “sterrato” sector of the 2019 La Vuelta stage.

La Purito

The short history of this race did not prevent it from becoming one of the most anticipated dates in the cycling calendar in just a few years. The support of former professional cyclist Joaquim "Purito" Rodriguez is one of the keys to his success. The La Purito route is very challenging as it follows the route of the 11th stage of La Vuelta 2015, considered by many to be the most difficult stage in the history of the Spanish Tour.

Andorra MTB Classic-Pyrenees

For mountain biking enthusiasts, one of the highlights of the year is the Andorra MTB Classic-Pyrenees, a doubles stage race. This event, part of the Andorran Multisport Festival, gives mountain bike enthusiasts the perfect opportunity to discover the many trails and routes that have made Andorra one of the leading destinations for this discipline.
