The warm heart of Africa, Malawi, now beats faster and a legendary welcome is here for anyone who wants to experience an unrivaled combination of lake, landscape, wildlife and culture in one of Africa's most beautiful and compact countries. Recently voted one of the best countries to travel to in 2022 by Lonely Planet (a remarkable second appearance on this prestigious list in recent years), Malawi tourism is set to return to the upward trajectory it was on before the pandemic.

Described as the “Warm Heart of Africa”, this relatively little known gem of such a diverse continent has a lot to offer; wildlife, culture, adventure, scenery and of course the third largest lake in Africa. It is a year-round destination and some even go so far as to call Malawi the most attractive and interesting destination in Africa!

This may seem like a very bold statement for such a relatively small country, but the truth lies in the unique combination of attractions that Malawi has to offer. Where else will you find such rich cultural interaction and such genuinely warm welcome in a country that is at peace with itself? Where else can you see such a diverse picturesque kaleidoscope in such a small area? It has the highest mountain in Central Africa, vast high plateaus with seemingly limitless views, forests and pristine game parks and the jewel in the crown, Africa's third largest and most beautiful lake - truly an inland sea. Thrilling safaris now rival their neighbors thanks to Africa Parks' sustainable wildlife revolution, and it's easy to see why Malawi is so popular right now.

Malawi's tourism industry is vital to the country's overall economy and supports countless local Malawians through employment and community projects, as well as helping to conserve the country's natural resources. As the industry tries to recover from the damage caused by COVID-19 and continue to play an important role, it is doing everything possible to ensure the well-being of its visitors. A set of national COVID-19 health and safety protocols for tourism have been developed, resulting in the World Travel and Tourism Council awarding the Safe Travels Stamp. The WTTC stamp was created to show travelers which destinations have adopted globally standardized health and hygiene protocols to ensure “Safe Travels.”

Lake Malawi is the jewel in the crown of Malawi. With tropical beaches and plenty of water sports, the lake is also home to some of the rarest and most beautiful fish in the world.

Discover the big five in Malawi's national parks. Thanks to the historic translocation of elephants, as well as the recent introduction of lions, cheetahs and giraffes, Malawi has it all.

Stunning scenery spans the country from north to south, with several wild areas and highlands offering spectacular views and photographic backdrops.

Malawians are the friendliest people you will ever meet and they truly deserve the title "The Warm Heart of Africa". Discover ancient traditions, modern festival subculture and much more.
