Like probably most people on the globe, I don’t really like solving “paper” questions, standing in lines, filling out forms, and so on.

But what to do if things pile up, they need to be resolved before they cover you headlong like an avalanche. And so in the morning I went to the local Immigration Department in order to get a foreigner ID card, which I needed in connection with the next visa extension and registration of a tax policy.

But everything turned out to be not so simple, I filled out the papers, wandered along the corridor with my documents, time passed, but the process did not move, and panic began to seize me. I needed help, and I was already beginning to regret that I had not asked my local friends for it in advance...

And before I had time to think so, I suddenly saw a pretty Kenyan girl leaving the office I needed. Without thinking for a long time, I rushed to her with the words “Help me please,” looking into her eyes with the most soulful look.

She laughed, and her smile gave me hope that she would not leave me in this “difficult” moment.

And she really helped me solve all the issues with the ease of a fairy. The documents were submitted, and their further receipt seemed to be a trivial matter that I myself could do.

We went outside and started talking. Her name was Tina, a 28-year-old native of the city of Kisumi belonging to the Luo tribe, which once came to Kenya from Sudan. She moved to Malindi after graduation to work in a local school as a primary school teacher.

She had a sense of humor and good English, and in addition she had beautiful lively eyes and an open smile. I was fascinated and really wanted to somehow thank her for the concern she showed towards my modest person. And then, very opportunely, I remembered the cute little place of Kilifi, located on the coast, which I had long been planning to visit to see the sights and taste local delicacies. And now the time has come!

I invited Tina to join me, and was ready that I would have to try harder to get her consent, but she was sincerely happy with my offer, it turned out that she had never been there either, so why not!? The stars favored me!!!

Our acquaintance with Kilifi began with the ruins of the ancient Swahili city of Mnarani, located near the old bridge. They turned out to be smaller than the ruins of Gede, but also very interesting and picturesque. This place was mesmerizing. We wandered in silence, among the remains of walls, arches and a mosque, over which the spirit of the people who had once lived here still hovered.

And then we went for a walk around the city, in which only one street has a name - Universitetskaya, and the rest do not even have house numbers. We were surrounded only by low, small houses, and we met simple, smiling people.

The city gave a feeling of peace and tranquility, lulled us with the proximity of the sea, as if inviting us to forget about the bustle and not to rush anywhere. We went out to the sea and saw a beautiful snow-white beach and the ocean, where snow-white yachts rocked on the warm waves.

It was so strange, because in the city we did not meet anyone who could own at least one of them. It turned out that the comfort and beauty of this place was recently appreciated by local rich people, leaving noisy Mombasa to tourists; they themselves chose less noisy and passable places, not yet spoiled by civilization.

Oh, as I understood them, there really is everything you need for proper rest and recovery: excellent fishing and safaris, beach sports, diving and spearfishing, there are even bicycles for rent, on which you can happily explore the surroundings of Kilifi. And we thoroughly enjoyed its gifts: we swam and sunbathed, played beach volleyball and scuba dived. And then evening came, and we remembered that the body also needs to be fed.)

For dinner, I chose the Nautilus restaurant, which serves excellent oysters and fried lobsters with good Kenyan white wine, which is great to drink with delicious food and sophisticated conversation. I loved spending time with Tina, I felt happy and a little in love, and I wanted this evening to last and last as long as possible!

But, my dear reader, let me end my story at this point, because being a gentleman, I cannot tell you about the further development of events.

Therefore, I’ll just say that it was a great day in my life, which gave me many wonderful impressions and events, the main of which, of course, was meeting a beautiful girl Tina, and getting to know the wonderful Kenyan town of Kilifi, which I definitely recommend to everyone. , visit!
